Strahd

Strahd is a Barovian given name strongly associated with the line of Barov von Zarovich, the ruling family of Barovia. Since the establishment of Barovian rule in the valley, all rulers of Barovia have borne this name. Notable rulers include:

• Strahd I von Zarovich, the legendary conqueror of Barovia, son of Barov von Zarovich, founder of the city of Vallaki, and builder of Castle Ravenloft.
• Strahd XIII von Zarovich, the current ruler of Barovia.
