Before the Fellowship

Mother Millian's Tale

Millian was Clan mother to the Crockfoot Clan it was Millian's responsibility to look after her furtive halfling kinsmen. She softened to their wishes to 'live a little' and 'enjoy life' and allowed some music and festivities. The noise of a baby naming celebration brought giants and giant kin down upon their cave. The entire clan was wiped out.

Millian awoke from the battle with a bump on her head and shame in her heart. The ancestors beseeched her to travel with an interest in understanding the meaning of such menial insignificant life. Coming down from her hill country she ran into a group of colorful travelers, "the Vistani", she criticized and ate their soup and passed out under a wagon. She awoke in the strange cursed land of Barovia next to Corwin the monster hunter and a recently deceased knight named Slag.
